US and France now even at 2-2. Only 31 minutes down.
France already ahead 2-1? I only took a quick shower o_O
Naked in Public? Sexy in Public! Yeah! RT @DougtheFergus: Naked In Public Store is OPEN! http://t.co/8kkEvUqk
One of my friends just mentioned this and I’m curious about it. Why do so many people think Africa is a country? Is it confusion with South Africa? Hmm.
Sadly it was pretty cloudy outside. Only got two good starry photos :(
I’m going to do something I haven’t done in a while. I’m going to play Minecraft!
Have you ever sneezed so hard you painfully farted?
Noooooooooooooo! Sally Ride has died :(
People who say they’re going to boycott certain products due to a pro-gay stance and uses Facebook to say it make me laugh.
With the Brumbies not in the Super Rugby playoffs… I have to watch the games through manly tears :'(
Romney has state in the past that he wasn’t to see every computer in the US have a porn filter installed on it.
HAHAHAHAHAHA… yeah, good luck with that, chump.
This smoke is killing me. :(
The smoke that is being seen around the eastern and central Upper Peninsula is from a fire in Ontario.

RT @RaniaKhalek: “Only in America are gun massacres of this kind routine, expectable, and certain to continue.” http://t.co/F6TH32yx
Pretty damn absurd to think throwing MORE guns into the mix will stop gun violence.
“Those killed in Aurora represent less than half a day’s quota of annual gun deaths in the US. Today is the rule, disguised as the exception.” - Greg Scott
Just another prime example of America’s gun culture :(
It appears the 3 month old was not shot at the theater. Just taken due to the situation and a desire to make sure the kid was okay.
There was a three month old kid shot at the theater shooting in Colorado.
Probably not the appropriate time to bring this up but… who brings a three month old to the theater?
Just had a charlie horse in my jaw. Ouch ouch ouch.
For the first time in a while there are no tropical systems in the Atlantic or East pacific. All is quiet.
And so it begins. Record warmth in Greenland has resulted in record floods as glacial melt has hit an all-time high.
I’m not sure who this MC Chris guy is but he sounds like a huge douche canoe. I know a shit ton of musicians more deserving of fans then him
As a result of elevated levels of bacteria, specifically E.coli, some beaches have closed in Chippewa County.
Brimley State Park and Sherman Park are closed to recreational swimming.
The Chippewa County Health Department is urging people to avoid body contact in these areas.
The Environmental Health staff continues to investigate and track potential sources of contamination in these areas on a daily basis.
Please copy and paste this to your status if you’re constantly being asked to copy and paste things to your status by friends who copy and paste things to their statuses. Many people won’t copy and paste this, but my truly sarcastic friends will copy and paste it because they know this was copied and pasted from a dear friend in need of more stuff to copy and paste; and if you don’t copy and paste it, then this means you hate bacon. And if you hate bacon, the terrorists win.
For far too long we’ve been pacified by TV, movies, and various other forms of media. The corporations who pull the strings want you to believe that they have everything under control. Just keep watching your narcissistic vomit that is reality TV. Hey, I bet the Kardashians are up to some sort of shenanigans.
All the while your government is killing countless innocent people or supporting regimes that do so. But it doesn’t matter, you keep on swallowing what they spoon feed you. You’re not pretty, you have to buy a paycheck worth of beauty products… you’re not going to be able to attract that guy without it! Men, too. Women aren’t going to want anything to do with you unless you look like a Calvin Klein model.
You consume and consume and consume. Corporate logos become elevated to the status of nation flags. You become defined by which corporation was able to successful swindle the money from your debt ridden hands. Sweet blissful capitalism.
The corporations pacify the masses with junk in the media. Those who want to be informed then run to corporate media, where they tell you to be very afraid. For those who actually want to participate in our “democracy” are then given two choices for office, both of which are sponsored by significant donations from those corporations.
We are in a serious need of change, and I don’t mean that sweet empty phrase Obama passed around in 2008.
If you think the US war in Iraq and Afghanistan was anything other than US terrorism, you are part of the problem!

Well, guess there will be no pictures tonight. Fog, lots of fog :/
The sky is clear, the chance for aurora is decent. Camera is ready.
Changing my tropical cyclone page to track all storms over the world. Then I remember I hard coded all my longitudes to be “west”, or negative.
Line by line by line I must change this. sigh
Currently editing a 15000x7600 resolution image in Photoshop on my laptop. Why do I smell smoke?

Just spent the last two hours without power. Without a fan running. Got a little sweaty.
Did you know Bob Ross never made any money off of his TV show on PBS? Did you also know he hated his hair but knew that changing it would ruin his brand.
Nothing says good morning like early morning laundry.
I’m pretty proud of my Facebook cover photo combined with my profile picture. It’s a work of art people!
Not sure why this amused me so much… but I went to send a shutdown command to my server and first I sent the command “shotdown”. Of course it tells me that it can “shotdown” itself. DOH!
Then I retype the command and noticed I this time sent the command “shitdown”. Ubuntu dutifully informed me that it also can not “shitdown” itself.
Got it right on the third try.
I’m about to pull my eyes out. Argh!

Something else I learned today. Other than the “per cent” symbol %, there is the “per mil” symbol ‰, and the Basis point symbol ‱.
% = 0.01 ‰ = 0.001 ‱ = 0.0001

Minor Solar Storm Forecast to impact Earth on Saturday
A Coronal Mass Ejection, which is a burst of solar wind and magnetic fields from an active region of the sun, erupted from the Sun on Thursday afternoon and is expected to impact the earth today. The experts at the NWS Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) expect minor (G1) storming, with the chance of attaining moderate (G2) Geomagnetic Storm activity after 9:00 a.m. EDT today (July 14).
It’s funny how much crap Kesha gets. Not my type of music but she sounds rather intelligent and just knows how to play the business. Kudos to her.
I just had a funny idea. What if I kept track of everything I learned new during the week and shared it.
I think some people would be scarred at the depraved things I learn.
Hell, I’m doing it. Quickly, to the blog-cave!!!
Today I learned about “Hirsuties coronae glandis”… don’t Google search that.
The CME launched toward Earth by yesterday’s X-flare is moving faster than originally thought. Analysts at the Goddard Space Weather Lab have revised their forecast accordingly, advancing the cloud’s expected arrival time to 09:17 UT (5:17 am EDT) on Saturday, July 14th. Weekend auroras are likely.

The sun just released an X-class solar flare directly at Earth. I’m hoping for some good aurora so I can finally get some pictures of them!

Continuing with my issue with mapping points on a satellite image of the Earth. I’ve got the formulas working … almost. However, the points are off by a little bit. This leads me to believe that the error here is the satellite image doesn’t show enough to make it the projection I was thinking it was. In fact only 150º is shown on the image. http://i.imgur.com/Arecn.jpg
I think I may have found the answer here (http://www.hydrometronics.com/downloads/Ellipsoidal%20Orthographic%20Projection.pdf) but… wow, that’s a bit for me to swallow.
So I heard there was a bit of an incident out at my old workplace. Yeesh.

Oooh, here’s a tricky one. I want to convert a satellite image from its original form to Mercator Projection. This’ll be fun.
A record high temperature of 96 degrees was set at the Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City mi today. This breaks the record from earlier this afternoon of 95 and the original record of 94 set back in 1993.
