Every time a mass shooting happens someone asks about stricter gun control and they always say that now is not the time to talk about it.
So when is it a good time? How many more people do we need to loose before it’s okay to talk about this? No other country deals with this kind of thing.

So the republicans in the senate shot down a UN treaty that would call for the raising of the standards by which people that are disabled get treated.
Because of some silly conspiracy theory regarding the UN and US sovereignty. The treaty would not require the US fo do anything as it was making the other 100+ signatories come in line with our level of laws… and the treaty was negotiated by George W. Bush!

Played a handful of Halo 4 matches last night and I have to hand it to 343… they made enough changes to make it fresh and new while retaining the same feel.

Great victories for marriage equality in Maine, Maryland, and Washington State. Plus good on Minnesota for rejecting a bid to ban gay marriage in their constitution.
Asides from the republicans keeping control of the house of representatives, yesterday was a good day.
Colorado and Washington have legalized marijuana. Not just medical marijuana, not just decriminalization (civil fine, no jail), but has made it 100% legal.
Prohibition is on its way out. Slowly, but surely.

Wind Advisory in effect for all of lower Michigan. Hurricane Sandy’s outer edges will bring strong winds to the area. Sustained 20 to 30 MPH winds will be likely with gusts reaching upwards to 45 MPH are possible.
The strongest winds will be tonight and through the day tomorrow.

Reports from an Air Force Hurricane Hunter aircraft indicate that the maximum sustained winds have increased to near 85 MPH with higher gusts. Sandy is expected to transition into a frontal or wintertime low pressure system prior to landfall. However, this transition will not be accompanied by a weakening of the system - and in fact a little strengthening is possible during this process.
