Web 1.0 was the best Web.
Yes, some people still blog! I have a collection of random things I’ve written about, big and small, since 2001.
Yes yes yes, I change website styles more often than I change my underwear – I know. I’ve been trying to find one that works well, and it easy to use. This seems to fit the bill, though I will miss having a photo gallery type section, but I’m sure I can work on that a little.
It’s that time of year when everyone rushes to the Kitchen to get that wonderful piece of pumpkin pie.
This year, I was thankful I was nowhere near the kitchen.
I was awoken to my sister proding me telling me to wake up. (I work night shift, so I sleep in the morning and early afternoon.) After getting myself slightly awake, I ask her whats going on.
“A shotgun blast went through our kitchen.”
It’s Back! This time, coming for us here in Texas.
Although unsure of anytime before satellites, this is the first time since we’ve been able to track tropical cyclones via satellites that we’ve had one make landfall, get swept away like most of them do, but make a back track south, back into the Gulf of Mexico, and regain strength. Enter, Ivan… again. Although nowhere near as powerful as Ivan was a week ago, it’s still going to give a good amount of rain wherever it hits.
I made a video of these last storms that have hit:
Bonnie and Charlie hit Florida http://www.astinus.net/video/bonchar-tropics.mov (Dead Link) (1.7MB Quicktime)
Frances Gaston and Hermine http://www.astinus.net/video/frangastherm-tropics-med.mov (Dead Link) (2.3MB Quicktime) Updated 09/01/04
I’ll continue to update the “Frances Gaston and Hermine” video as Frances makes it’s way torwards Florida. I think it’s very interesting to see these storms in full motion video like this.
Anyone who knows me knows I’ve always been a big nut when it comes to weather. Therefore it shouldn’t be a suprise to know I’m very interested in the double tropical systems that are going to be hitting Florida a day apart. This is the first time two tropical systems hit Florida in a one-two-punch style since Oct. 17, 1906. (Mark that down as your useless information for the day)
https://astinus.net/ (Dead Link) , my personal website, is now open, but still being worked on.
Not much going on. I finished building my house in Second Life, just need to get me some furnature in there, and I’m also working on my new website https://astinus.net/ (Dead Link) … and I bought an iPod O.O I bought an apple product hides face in shame
Other than that… not much else at this time.
I haven’t tossed up anything here in a long while.
Tired, thats what I am. Tired of work switching my schedule constantly. Work evenings, then mornings, back to evenings… oh, back on mornings again. My body can’t keep up with it.
The “game” I’ve been playing a lot of is Second Life – highly addictive because it’s not a game but a virtual community. Just last night I began building my house there. I’ve put Final Fantasy XI on the back burner for a while, give myself a break. I leveled myself to 38 Dragoon, but had to set it aside before I go crazy. I still have to level my Samurai which is only level 10. So, I’ll have to head back to the Dunes and Qufim and… and… the jungles near Kazham. Shudder … With all that work ahead of me, I’m enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of Second Life.
I just got my hands on a box-set of Cowboy Bebop, that’ll give me something to do for a while. Other than talking to Nina on the telephone, playing Final Fantasy XI… Star Wars Galaxies, and working. I don’t do much.
And with that, I go back into hiding.
I believe I am being punished for something I’ve done in life… maybe in my past. Why else would I be forced to go to work at 8 in the morning. 8! Thats 4 hours before my normal wake up time of noon.
sigh
I guess I should look at the bright side, this gives me from about 4pm to midnight to do whatever on Final Fantasy XI! KA~Ching! Now I am just waiting for Ashlie to get on there, it’ll give me a chance to start leveling with someone I know… since Nina has jumped to level 34 (must be nice ^^)
