Another snippet of my short story I’m writing.

Then the idea hit him like a Desert Hammer Wasp of Relgon. He would just need to get someone strong enough to lift him and possibly someone holding him up there. Johnny quickly navigated through the dense mass of confused aliens. Scanning to and fro Johnny decided that if there was a creator of the universe he – or she – sure had a funny sense of humor. Any creature tall enough to lift either him or someone holding him up high enough were incredibly fragile looking. The ones that looked strong enough to hold him were short and stout. Johnny suddenly imagined a team of Ternarians, standing no taller than two feet, holding him up to the vent in a pyramid – much like the cheerleaders of Astorack, the most popular sport in all of the Milky Way and it’s satellite galaxies. You can also find some Astorack fans in about one-third of the Andromeda Galaxy, specifically the third facing the Milky Way. The rest of the residents of Andromeda find the sport rather boring and violent, preferring their sport of pick-up sticks which carries a name so unusual that it is unable to be displayed by the reader you are using, or printed by the machine that printed this book if you’re a Milky Way Hipster.

I think I’m going to go to sleep now. Early? Sure, but I feel wore out.

I just ran across the Final Fantasy XI subreddit. Sudden influx of memories. I wasted so much time in that game. Even now… it draws me towards it.

It should never had been the case that Johnny would find himself in a sticky situation. His job was boring work but he was expected to perform it dutifully since boring jobs is what robots were made for. He did find himself daydreaming of fancy adventures during those mundane duties at the meal service line, though wide eyed with imagined excitement he knew it was unrealistic and that he should leave such adventures for the adventurous. In his imaginings he always thought of himself as the dashing hero saving the buxom lady from the hands of the daring villain with a taste of random kidnappings, well groomed goatees, and a flair for evil maniacal laughter.

Just as he began moving down the hall the emergency warning lights came on and an annoying buzzer began wailing. It was an interesting fact that all the species of the Milky Way Galaxy have hearing in different ranges. To help facilitate this problem all warning sirens extend through a good portion of frequencies. The side effect of this was more than a few species would develop headaches – or the equivalent for those without heads – quite quickly. There had even been reports of some heads exploding, particularly the Gnosian Cuddlefish who were known for their explosive temper, their love of war, and their ability to regrow heads. They were called Cuddlefish because they where hopeless romantics when they weren’t terrorizing entire civilizations.

The furthest back I was able to track my ancestry was Knut Mikkelsen Søndenå (1525-1570) born in Norway, he’d be my 11x Great Grandfather.

I just discovered that I am officially able to join the Sons of the American Revolution. Seems my 6x Great Grandfather on my mother’s-mother’s side was in the war.
