ADHD: A Mind in Motion

Posted on Jul 3, 2024
Twenty tabs open, focus scattered like seeds,
A daily dance with each rabbit hole that leads
To nowhere and everywhere, all at once.
Keys in the fridge, grocery list—a forgotten bunch.

Is this my fate? A cosmic jest,
A temporary break from life's linear test?
Thoughts wander, time slips away,
In meetings, my mind's at play.

Simple tasks become Everest climbs,
Jumbled thoughts, misplaced time.
Can I rein it in? Or am I destined to roam,
From whim to whim, in my cluttered home?

Reminders, my full-time friend,
Post-its and alarms without end.
Coffee made, then lost in the haze,
Two hours gone in this temporal maze.

My calendar, a Jackson Pollock deed,
Every task a color, a desperate need.
Wallet lost, phone on a string,
Still playing hide-and-seek, in this chaotic ring.

But in this whirlwind, a truth I've found,
Laughter's the key when chaos is crowned.
So here's to the pandemonium, let it be my guide,
In this ADHD world, I'll embrace the wild ride.

Not broken, just different—a mind redesigned,
A world of endless dreams, uniquely aligned.
Yes, my mind's long gone, but oh, what a view!
In this scattered landscape, something rings true.

So I'll dance with my thoughts, as they come and go,
In this beautiful chaos, I'll learn to grow.
ADHD, oh it's leading me on,
But in this journey, I'm right where I belong.
