Take Me Back to Web 1.0
Endless feeds, a sickness of scrolling Corporate algorithms sowing their seeds Ads assault my vision at every turn Trapped in their data hook, I yearn For a simpler time, free of likes and shares My GeoCities lair, a digital home that cares Web 1.0, a nostalgic call Personal pages, the heart of it all No influencers, no blue checkmarks to chase Just blinking text and HTML, a familiar face Web 2.0, a corporate farce I long for the days when the net was sparse Web 3.0, a hollow promise Crypto dreams and blockchain follies NFTs, a pyramid scheme in disguise Get-rich-quick dreams before our eyes They thought to recreate what was lost But greed became the ultimate cost Give me back my digital relics Guestbook, hit counter, webring semantics Under construction GIF, a work in progress "Best viewed in Netscape," a nostalgic caress The personal web calls me home A space to blog, to rant, to roam No likes, no shares, no corporate chains Just me, my thoughts, and keyboard refrains Take me back to Web version one Where the internet was raw and fun
