Chapter 10 - Department of Agriculture

  • Reject efforts to transform the food system based on climate change and equity concerns
  • Remove U.S. from UN and international sustainable development initiatives related to food
  • Eliminate or restrict USDA's discretionary spending authority under the Commodity Credit Corporation
  • Repeal or significantly reform farm subsidy programs like ARC and PLC
  • Eliminate the federal sugar program
  • Reduce premium subsidies for crop insurance
  • Move food and nutrition programs (like SNAP) from USDA to HHS
  • Re-implement and tighten work requirements for SNAP recipients
  • Reform broad-based categorical eligibility for SNAP
