Kerrie's Vows to Me
February 27, 2013

Doug, I honestly didn’t think I would ever fall in love again.

From an outsider’s perspective, it might seem like we moved really fast – but I don’t remember a time before we were friends.

I have always respected your intellect and your humor. Even in my darkest days, you have always had the ability to make me laugh.

I don’t think I can put into words how much your friendship has meant to me over the years or how overwhelmingly blessed I feel to have that friendship grow into love.

I love your kind and gentle eyes. I love the way you play and respect Isabelle. I love the way you hold me in your arms and make the whole world melt away.

I love your unquenchable thirst for knowledge. I love that you walk me to the car every morning and kiss me like it’s the last time you will ever see me; unless it’s really cold, then you just wave from the window.

I love that when I get the exercise bug, you are right beside me doing squats and push-ups and counting reps in various languages. I love that you unequivocally support me in all my wacky endeavors.

I vow to try to be the best thing that ever happened to you, every day. I vow to talk to you about my feelings, instead of shoving them way down inside where they belong.

I vow to be open, honest and to respect you as an individual, just the way you are. I vow to make you cheesecake on your birthday.

Most importantly, I vow to love and cherish each day we have together as a couple and as a family.
