Super Bowl Sunday
February 5, 2006

Ahh, the “Big Game” is here. Game after game, win after win, the two teams here truly deserve to be in this game. There has been much speculation from the sports writers, the news columnist, and general fans that the teams that are here do not deserve to be here. Seattle because they had an “easy schedule” and Pittsburg because their wins were “a fluke.”

Say what you will, hypothesise all you want. The teams that deserve to be here are the teams that win. Many may try to predict if it will be an exciting game: high scoring, close calls, lots of action… or a boring game: low scoring, dull plays, lopsided victory. You’ll never know how the game will play out until… the game has played out.

5pm Central is when it all begins and I shall not watch a moment sooner… these three to four hour pregame shows are just annoying. I’m not watching to see music acts in the beginning and I don’t much care for the halftime show. (Half time shows up until recently were just a large group of egotistic performers trying to get as much airtime as possible.)

Although I’m not a huge fan of the Rolling Stone, I’m sure I’m going to enjoy their show more than a ‘Super Bow Remix’ of some rap song, or some pop-star lip syncing to the CD version of one of their hit songs.

It’s Super Bowl time! My HDTV on my computer desk is waiting for the kickoff. No: I’m not going to a Super Bowl party. I’m not friends with many people here in Texas, and those that I am are not football loving fans. It’s just me, my TV… and maybe an internet ordered pizza.
