It’s that time of year when people make a great deal about groundhogs seeing their shadow or not seeing their shadow, winter lasting longer or not, etc.
Of course this tradition has no merit to it. The basis behind the idea is that bright winter days are the coldest (which is true). Therefore, if the groundhog sees it’s shadow, the winter will last another 6 weeks. (It is colder on sunny days in the winter because the clouds are not their to insulate the surface, allowing all heat to escape.)
Most important for me tonight is the season premier of Survivor. I only watch one reality TV show and this is it. I don’t like any of the others. This is the 12th season. I’ve been a fan since season two from Australia. So, every Thursday night 7pm I’m sitting myself at my desk and have one hour of TV time. It’s really the only TV I watch except for football.
Speaking of which: Super Bowl XL is just a few days away! As I’ve said previously, this is certainly not the teams that I had expected to be there… but it should be an interesting game none-the-less. I look forwards to watching it. I only hope that it is not boring. I find one-sided games or very low scoring games to be boring. I do not want to see a 52 to 3 game, or a 6 to 3 game.
I’ve also been waiting to see a Super Bowl to go to overtime. The past couple of years it’s almost happen, but hasn’t yet. None of the past 39 Super Bowls have gone into overtime.
